buying a new aviator

I cannot believe that after all the complaints I have had about Forest River I am going to pick up our new wright flyer on Fri. well at least I get rid of my 36 CKTS, the way I see it since it has been in for service basically 8 months out of the last 11 they might as well keep it.

Some have disagreed with me, but I believe that quality and durability is the big challenge for the RV industry. If they want us to spend more, then the quality bar has to go up. This issue not only retards the industry, but it will also create a competitive opportunity for niche companies including off-shore competitors ala the auto industry.

Quality is a brand's best defense, as it builds brand loyalty and supports premium pricing. Lack of quality produces the opposite results.

Just curious, were the problems really that bad, or was the dealer / service that slow? Every make / model / brand has good ones and bad ones. Be careful before knocking a brand, as you may swap to brand xyz and have twice the trouble, even after reading a ton of great threads on a forum. Been there a few times. I'd own another Tiffin, even after a LOT of problems. Swapped to FR because Tiffin didn't make a class c, more problems. Even with that, all solved by both manufactures at the factory, no questions asked. We've just learned to expect the worst, hope for the best. I hope you have better luck. We're actually swapping back to a fifth wheel next year, and it'll probably be a cedar creek.

At least in Heaven, RVs will be perfect, and I won't have to keep fixing them.

Experiences are normally individual in nature. However, after shopping the industry for nearly a year and reading countless forum posts here and elsewhere, I am convinced that the RV industry needs to concentrate on upgrading its core commitment to quality.

Having said that, Tammy and I are in Omaha to go through a show and tell tomorrow with the AC Nelsen techs about our new Aviator Wright Flyer. For the past two weeks we have been in contact with two FR Aviator factory reps who have been helping us with the Sony tablet set-up, as it controls many of the trailer functions. They have also been working with AC Nelsen to correct the issues we identified during our review after purchase. So far, we are impressed with FR commitment to customer service.

Time will tell about the quality of our new Aviator TT.
