I googled aviators last night after reading this. They do look neat, but WOW all the ones I saw at dealers were $70-80k+ sticker with actual pricing of mid $40-mid 50k. I think most in that price range are looking at 5ers.
On forest rivers website they have a 3rd model available with alot of "tbd" specs. There is the electra, Wright - flyer, and the spirit of saint louis.
Cool niche market trailers for sure though!!!

At 40 or 50 thou, there would be no possible way I could remain either married or not commited had I suggested to my wife to spend that much on a tt. The field mice would have better living accomadations than I would. Had I brought one home, my living space would be nice, but I would be divorced, and right back to the field mice comparison

the thing people forget is the few of us who actually bought these RV's paid a bit more than the current prices, in my case it was closer to 70,000, than FR decided to dump the line and remaining inventory into the dealer network making mine and a few others worthless for trade in, I know I tried.

When I was there 3 weeks ago, there were working on a unit out of the Miami area thT was sold from the Greenville, SC dealer.

yes giant sold 3 at a much discounted price compared to what we paid, now maybe you are going to keep yours forever but I like to trade every year, according to my last attempt to trade at giant my wright flyer with every option but the sony tablet, that i paid 68,000 just 5 months ago is worth less than 40,000, that hurts.

It is a bummer to know that the units have devalued so much. I bought mine early this summer and gave 47K for my Electra so I am not hurting as bad as others but still . . .

my own fault for trading, when you trade its either retail for retail or wholesale for wholesale, my problem is i did not think Don was going to drop the price 15,000 after I bought. if i remember TB you got yours somewhere in the upper 50,000 so you are not too bad, oh well i could just buy something else and rent this out for Disney vacations

Yea, I paid 54 + Tax & Tag but I had not trade. But I'm very happy with mine now. My wife would like a big 5ver but I don't want to buy a bigger truck just for that. I sure we'll find something at the Tampa Show in Jan we can't live without.

I am new to RVing. My question is that When you are traveling can you pull into a parking lot of a shopping center and spend the night there, or the side of the road, or or you have to go into an RV park?
Thanks,
Jim O

Walmart is good but I eould go inside and check first.
Any rest area you feel safe in, same for a truck stop.
ANY place is better than the side of the road.

What Ford Said x2
Do you by chance use a iPad? There are apps that you can get that ID Walmart's, Costco's, and Sam's clubs you can use overnight - GREAT money saver when all you need to do is snooze on the way to a destination!

This is a great resource for RVing at Walmarts:
http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/walmartrving/info
They're big proponents of asking first (even if you see others in the parking lot as some Walmarts require it) and not "looking like you're camping". Be very aware of your stabilizers, landing gear and anything with a small footprint that pushes down on hot asphalt - it can easily damage it.

Go to the App Store and search for ALLSTAYS. They have a series of apps that help you locate campgrounds, Wal-Marts, COSTCO's and Rest Areas. The Camp & RV app for $9.99 includes the Wal Mart database + others. Here is their website:
Allstays | Campgrounds | RV Parks
And the blurb on their RV App:
Camp & RV (Version 4.8)
The #1 camping app for iPhone, iPods, iPads, and Android keeps getting better in 2013! From resorts to hike-in spots. Amenities, maps, truck stops, rest areas, Wal-mart and casino parking, low clearance alerts, RV dealers and rental companies, sporting goods stores and much more. Two modes: one uses GPS and maps that you can filter down to dozens of site amenities. The other is an offline manual lookup mode for ipods or when you don't have service. Also includes official websites, directions, one touch calling, image and review searches and so much more.
I bought the app last week and have not had to use it in "real world" situations but so far I am impressed! Shows Sam's Clubs, Wal-Marts, LP Stations and of course RV Campgrounds LOL - it even lists dump stations (free and pay)
