does you slide topper spew rusty water on the sides of your RV when you open the slide? Mine does, something inside the roller is rusting

No yet and it better not! Look around the top of you shower stall. Mine needed a little caulk to seal it and prevent water from going down behind it.

every time I open my slide rusty water sprays on either side of the slide and makes a mess for me to clean off. Giant says they don't know what they can do to stop it, I say replace the topper.

Brian seem to be particularly mum at the moment. My guess is there is a roller inside the topper which is spring loaded and the spring is probably got rust on it, will let you know.

2013 Aviator Wright Flyer

Hi everyone,

I recently bought my first travel trailer and fell in love with the Aviator. I had been reading your comments and were pretty exciting, looks like owners are satisfied so far with their trailer. I bought my Aviator at Fun Town RV in Cleburne, Texas. We actually broke it in at Fort Hood, Texas, Jellystone Park at Cleburne, Texas, and now at Fort Sam Houston, Texas until I find a suitable place for storage here in San Antonio, Texas. So far just minor issues I had found with the trailer nothing that I can't fix myself. I'm sure if I find something major I'll ask for your inputs before I do anything. First thing first I can probably use another air condition unit, its hot here in Texas and it takes a while to cool the trailer. any suggestion where I can get a compatible unit?

Thanks and hope to hear from you guys, Will post some picture soon.

most of us here in Florida have the 2nd A/C unit , its a std. dometic unit, takes the place of the fan in the Bedroom, of course its ducted but still is no problem for any good dealer ti install. Glad to see people are starting to buy these, I was starting to feel lonely, as of May they had only retailed 15 of the Aviators.

Welcome aboard Rodney! The flight has overall been great with a few minor or major glitches! Before my dealer here locally got them, I put a bid in on the one you bought. I think you'll like it.

you let me know when you are going to the Fort, will set you up with my friend, she is a travel agent and has been living at Fort wilderness for 4 years now, spent 4 months in the 700 loop with her and her husband last summer, best 4 months of my life. Can also get you a golf cart while you are there.

Thanks Toyboy, I do really like it and enjoying it so far. It was a good thing they did not accept your bid, lol. It was ment to be mine, I first so the deal on craigslists and could not pass up the discounted price and called the dealer right away.

Wow thanks again Bob, I might take you up on your offer but it will be a while my wife is pregnant with my second child due this November so more likely not till summer 2014. We are already doing our research and so far we like what we see with Fort Wilderness.

Regarding warranty work, do I have to take my travel trailer back to the dealership or I can take it to the nearest dealership for warranty work?

you can take it to the nearest dealer but they are under no obligation to do the work, most will though but you won't be 1st in line.

Most things can be fixed by the owners if your mechanically inclined to do so. Dropping it off at the dealership can oftentimes be a bad experience especially if you have to take it to a dealer where you didn't purchase it. I'd just as soon figure stuff out myself, "and have". But its a trailer ... much simpler than a motorhome. My Wanderlodge bus kept me busy all the time, loved it, but this is sooo much more, lets say, "less maintenance". It's needed some tweaking here and there, and needs some more tweaking here and there. So far, it's been okay...takes a little getting used to after owning a motor coach but we're adapting. Certainly gets a lot of looks.

Bob, I would firmly insist a new slide awning be installed. It is still under warranty isn't it?
