Hey Guys,
Wanted to share my experience in getting this done.
So I waited a month for my local shop who basically gave me the run around.
Too busy, too little space, blah, blah, blah.
I told them I'd wait for it so they didn't have to store it.
Being mechanically minded, I know the fix is quick,..REALLY? A month now?
I'm thinking they only want chargeable work to do. Next
Finally gave up and tried another dealer.
I'm in OC, California and I HIGHLY recommend Fairway Ford on Yorba Linda Blvd, Yorba Linda, CA.
The rep, Adam told me to bring it in next day if I wanted, he'd get me out in 2 hours.
Well, took it in today, got the recall AND an oil change, service inspection done in an hour, no lie.
They are a full service RV shop and Ford dealer with a fleet service area with appropriate truck bays, and I will take my rig there from now on.
2 thumbs up for those guys, they have my business.
They also told me that they have done a few of these recalls and most are good and only saw one that was not to spec.
It's a simple fix, but should be checked just in case.
The procedure is to back off bolt 1 full turn, and torque to spec, (125 ft lb's I think, don't quote me).
So it's not a huge deal to get done.
So, I suggest you all go get these done, as it affects a few of the Ford chassis and NOT just the F53.
Happy trails,
Steve
