2015 FR3 30DS - Replaced A/C Twice

Purchased a new 2015 FR3 30DS in Sept. 2014. In 10 months (Jul. 2015), the A/C quit cooling. Problem was a leaking Freon hose. The A/C unit was replaced under warranty. 13 months later (Aug. 2016), the new A/C unit quit cooling. This time I was told the compressor was shot. Again, got a new A/C installed under warranty. Now, 5 months later and only 4 trips since the new A/C was installed, it has again quit cooling. So I will be heading back to the repair shop with an A/C problem for the 3rd time in 2 years and 4 months. The unit is a Dometic 15k BTU. Anyone out there having the same problems with their A/C's or am I just unlucky?

I also have Dometic 15k unit and its still working good. I seem to remember some AC quality issues from Dometic. I would tell FR to replace it with an Atwood 15k unit that they now install in all the models now. We just finished installing a 15k unit in the back bedroom and its pretty slick with its heat pump function. Atwood also uses a couple less amps than the Dometic, ie more efficient. If my front AC unit ever goes out, I'll be switching it out to an Atwood. And there have been other owners that have convinced FR to swap AC unit brands. Probably easier now that Dometic now owns Atwood...lol.

Not a MH, but yes. I took mine to the shop 15 minutes ago to have Dometic 15K unit replaced. Oddly, it worked, and worked GREAT! But it leaked oil all over my DPMS roof and ruined it. Dometic is replacing things at their expense.

I asked the dealer/shop if this was for all units and he said no, they had a 'bad batch' or 'bad production run' and only the 15K units. I have a 13.5K unit on front and it's fine.

I have read on here that there is a history of Dometic A/C failures
