2016 fr3 28ds

Picking up our new 2016 FR3 28DS today. Traded our 2015 class C Forrester 2251LE. Hoping the kids don't get as car sick in this one. We are very excited to have more room and level floors. Are there any need to knows or dos?

Isn't the suspension the same.
Maybe the big front window will make a difference.

Not the same suspension. FR3 are built on the F53 motorhome chassis by Ford.

Not the same. The FR3 is built On the Ford F53 motorhome chassis. The others are on light truck cutaways

You really think there's a difference between the chassis of an F550 and an F53. And if the older RV is an F450 it would even be less rough.
It could also be a Chevrolet they make it both ways.

In my opinion I do think that the heavier sprung chassis with larger diameter tires will make a difference in how much sway and body roll there is. I don't believe that ride quality is totally due to smaller/ light weight chassis that may be at their load limits to begin with. But I also don't know what exactly causes carsickness

Most common is not being able to see out front window.

I was thinking the F53 chassis was completely different even the 6.8 ford motor is different than the e 450 6.8 in horsepower the f450 and the e450 are different also

You would be amazed by the commonality of parts.

If you are interested in comparing stripped chassis go to . www.ford.com/commercialtrucks/strippedchassis. from there you can select up to 3 chassis to compare. There are probably common parts used in the production. One very different thing is that both of the E chassis are twin I beam while the F53 is a single beam suspension.

Great news. Our girl is always in the back bed watching movies as I'm driving and I'm surprised that she doesn't get sick. So far, so good. Hope the same is with your family. Time to start your mods.
