2017 30' FR3 - Cab A/C Heater problems

I have a new 2017 30' FR3 .. The cab A/C unit doesn't blow cold air when in A/C mode and doesn't blow hot air when in heater/defrost mode. The Ford dealer says the A/C unit is working OK and it's a Forest River problem. The blower works, but when I turn the hot/cold selector nothing happens and when I turn the outlet selector (defrost/floor/etc) nothing happens. Has anyone experienced this problem ? It's going to be a month until I can get a service appointment. I purchased the unit in Ohio and live in NJ so the original dealer is of no use.

OK so here's an update.. I've been trying to get the heater to blow warm air, and the selector switch that directs the flow from defroster to floor etc to work. I turned on the headlights and to my surprise, the heater began to work and I could direct the flow from defroster to floor etc.! When I turned the headlights off it reverted back to previous condition. Turning the headlights back on and I regained control !! This is my first Forest River.. hopefully this is not an indication of their quality control !!
