25% Grade - Should I be concerned?

Campsite registration email points out The Campground is located at the top of the Mountain, there is a 25% grade incline.

I'm in the FR3 30. Is there anything I need to know? or do differently?

Hell yes...where is this campground? Are you sure that it's intended for RV's?

You would probably have a lot of trouble with a 15% grade.

A 25% grade is unbelievable, I sure wouldn't try that. Would you mind posting the name and location of that campground?

Amicaloa falls GA

You don't think it has the torque enough to make it to the top?

Wow- it DOES say that!

I would call them and ask what size RV's they have had there.

Clifford pulled our 7500lbs up 15% grade to big bear and I thought for sure we were not going to make it- even at peak of power band.

Beautiful pics of the area though.

I’ve read reviews of the park and a number of them mention the 25% grade. Apparently it is a beautiful state park but challenging to get to the campground. Let us know how it works out for you. If you have a toad I would consider disconnecting before going up.

Playing with the new "bike directions" suggestion by another forum member, it has to be intense if there are multiple sections labeled "Walk your bicycle":

Holy crap!!! I can't believe they even advertise it as tent or RV. I couldn't imagine getting any RV up that type of grade.

I don't think we encountered a 25% grade even when driving up Pikes Peak! WOW

I have been on some 16-17% grades on backroads in west va with my diesel 3500, but I cannot imagine 25% in a motorhome

Here are some quotes from reviews of the state park on RV Park Reviews. Forewarned is forearmed.

There are warning signs of a 25% grade. If you are not confident in your tow vehicle I would recommend you find another campground. We camped at Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

If you come in with 35'+ motorhome or trailer, only 3 sites leveling doable.

The park looks nice but I won't be camping there because of the road up. There's are signs warning of 25% grades and they aren't kidding. If you're pulling a trailer I'd suggest dropping it somewhere and driving up to the campground for a look. I did see one Class A up there but it was the camp host's and had the first site.

There is one area on the trip up the mountain where the campsites are that I began to wonder if my 37 foot V10 was going to make or not and several people I talked to said the same thing about the same area.

First and most importantly, there is a 25% steep grade going up to the campsite. Take note if you are concerned with your transmission or ability of your rig to pull up the mountain.

25% up is 25% down, down is where things go wrong real quick.

I would pass, just not worth it IMO.

We decide to go someplace else. We've been here for the day before. Looking for something new this weekend.

Thanks for the advice.

I have to wonder if the 25% grade is going up a mountain, or just a final short distance like on the top of a hill once you get at the top.

I routed it in my TopoProfiler App and it is really steep for about a mile. For 9/10ths of a mile overall 15% grade with some points over 20%.

Since the OP has stated he not going to attempt this park, I am going to do one off-topic post then.

Maybe this park would be better for flying RV's. A 25% grade would be no problem here.

4low on a 4wd pick will do it. I would not try it in a MH. I would not want to have to back all the way down.

Whew glad I saw this!! I wanted to take our 36' Class A pulling a toad there. I would've been a little worried once I saw that 25% grade sign.

Sounds like we'd camp nearby and take the toad for a day-trip to check it out.
