29DS: RV Washing Machine -- my solution

only on the road a few days but already not too impressed with public laundry spots. dirty washers, nasty dryers (pen ink, dirt, and who knows what else)...washing machine fits perfect in the outdoor bar space where the cooler was originally stored. cooler now in the power compartment.

so, rigged this up. bought the washer/spin combo on amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Best-Choice-P...ortable+washer

used 5/8" hose to connect. got a faucet aerator/to garden hose connector. some brass fitting later to make 3/4" go to 5/8". added a garden hose quick disconnect. and we have water. then got a washer return hose and connected it to the one that came with the washing machine. used bath tub caulk and silicone to connect. added an power adapter to the outside bar area. finally, got a hanging dryer line from CW -- using a $15 gift certificate we got in the mail, it was practically free. spinner on the machine gets the clothes 85% dry. can fit my king size bed sheets in there -- or about 4 bath towels. works best on athletic clothes -- like Nike DRYFIT material.

LOVING THIS...and now can wash/dry my clothes on my own terms.

as a back up, added this in the shower so i can use inside too! just sit in the shower and start doing clothes. water input fits perfect on that brass fitting. washer/dryer weighs under 25 lbs and is super easy to pick up and move...

best of luck all!

power adapter added -- and dual water supply added in the shower so we can connect the washing machine. set in the shower, add water, let water return in the drain. yahoo!

be safe all,

I bought this back when we tent camped and have been using it ever since. It is compact and easy to store and use. Not saying it is better than a machine, just saying it is a good alternative for me. We use the same clothes hanger (dryer) as bamagrad1992.
