No. It was just a side to side slide switch. No rockers, no light.

Well, I can honestly say I've never seen or heard of one like that. Now you have my curiosity up as to what it is.

Seen similar on fridges though.

It's the same process as on a fridge. You get one or the other. Not both at the same time.

Do you know what brand water heater this pertained to?

Can't say I've ever encountered a Suburban or Atwood like that.

Was it a Forest River product this water heater was installed in?

Never heard of a WH like this either.
I'd also like to hear what brand and model this is.

Yes it was a FR product. A 2011 Salem travel trailer. It was a Surburban WH. What model, I don't know.
If you're telling me you've not seen a WH that is propane/electric, I don't know what to tell you. Most have this type.

No we've seen a suburban wh just not one that is being described.

I have a suburban gas/ electric wh and it's one or the other or both if I want.

Not the water heater that we've not heard of but the way you describe the automatic control switching from propane to 110v.
