Styrofoam is what the ducts are made of they bore 4" holes through it, so that is normal, Your unit should cycle but could also depend on the temp setting or how hot and much heat gain your getting. You should get atleast a 17 degree drop from the outlet air to the return air, measure it with a thermometer. other then that you could below on your Freon charge..... PS: do you have a analog stat or digital?

Just returned from a 3 day outing in Jax. Fla. The a/c still pouring water out the a/c vent. Calling the dealer to schedule an appointment.
