Anyone use a space heater?
We have a 2016 30DS - wondering if it is safe or feasible to use something like this little cozy electric fireplace? Hoping the photo shows up.

I never thought about using one of those but if you have the room I don't see why it wouldn't work. We just use $15 Walmart 1500watt ceramic electric heaters when we are at a campground with hookups. I highly doubt that any heater you find that plugs into a standard plug will put out more than 1500watts no matter the size. But that electric fireplace might be more visually appealing if you have the room for it.

We keep a small one in the FW, it's good for taking the chill off during a cool morning or a rainy day.
Rides under the bench seat of the dinette.

If you've got room for that large unit go for it. We do winter camping in Tennessee and find it unacceptable to have to turn off the 1500 watt 13 amp space heater in order to use the electric water heater or microwave to prevent tripping a breaker.
If you find yourself in a similar situation, add a Marinco outlet to the side skirting (outside) of the 5er which connects via heavy duty extension cord to the pedestal. Then isolate one outlet inside the coach and install that nice electric fire place.

If you are in a campground with mostly other RVs this may not always work. In many campgrounds with 30A service, groups of three 30A sites are protected upstream by a 100A breaker usually in a locked panel. If two of the three sites that share a 100A breaker use the 15/20A outlet for a high current device ( Heater or electric fry pan) the 100 A breaker will trip. This makes for two unhappy neighbors and requires a visit by park maint.

Been using one of these for years. Set it on the kitchen table and keeps the whole MH nice and cozy. Don't have to worry about tripping any circuits. It doesn't say you need to but I crack a window or vent for peace of mind.

That picture makes the little fireplace look bigger than it is. It is 16 x 11 x 21 with adjustable 750w/1500w. It is only 79 bucks from Plow and Hearth and I thought - aww so cute. Then I saw a warning on my electric blanket not to use in a RV. That scared me. We are newbies - your expertise is soooo appreciated!

I have two of those Marinco plugs in the side of my Cedar Creek, one between our chairs in the livingroom which runs a infrared heater that we heat the camper with in the winter down south. The other outlet is in the kitchen and we plug an electric heater and toaster oven into it. Camper is plugged into 50 amp and then I use the 30 amp for the Marinco plugs.

we have a seasonal spot and the 5th wheel is plugged into 30 amp service
when it starts to get chilly almost everyone in the CG uses some sort of radiant heater vs their propane.
we pay 400$ next season for water / power and individual dumping station on each lot so why pay for LP when i can keep it for cooking and heating water

We use a small 10 amp oil filled heater, no fire risk.
DeLonghi TRN0812T Portable Oil-Filled Radiator with Programmable Timer on Amozn.
Pic of it is on my album, it fits in a short bay.

We use one by the front door. Helps with that nasty draft...

We own and use one close to that style in our 34' class-c. It takes the chill off in the morning, but we have learned (and should have already known) that we cannot run this heater, the coffee maker, and the toaster at the same time. Now we just use it to take off the chill, then turn it off while making breakfast.
We also have a small tower heater that we use in the bathroom to shower. Open the shower door, aim in that direction, then while showering, turn it around to face the room. Nice and toasty, turn it off, stow until time to warm up the bedroom, and repeat the next morning.

Whenever we have electric all we use is a 750/1500W ceramic heater to keep the trailer warm. I also did the addition of 15A power inlet that feeds a new outlet I added to the panel under the bathroom door. We use it for the heater due to its location. We also use it for the counter top convection oven so we don't overload the 30A when the AC is running along with the microwave.

Sorry, but I just can't get my head wrapped around this Mr. Heater thing. Why ANYONE would want to introduce an item clearly marked "Oxygen Depleting Device" into a dwelling is beyond me. Makes no sense, no sense at all.

Don't get that. We use an electric blanket all the time. One with 'his' and 'her' controls...
