radio
Does anyone else have to have the key in the ignition to play radio/cd? This does not make sense to me since we are plugged into electric but can not seem to figure the radio out. We like to keep the radio on for the dogs when we leave but we are not keeping the keys in the ignition while we are gone.

The Jensen DVD player by tv is also a radio. That plays over house speakers.

I wasn't even aware I had a DVD by the TV. Just thought it was in the radio.
Thanks.

The older FR3's, like my 2014, have a DVD/CD/radio on the entry closet wall to the left of the TV. Not sure when they switched to the in dash.

Ours did that shortly after we bought it. We took it back to the dealership under warranty, and they fixed it by re-installing some part that was backwards.

We bought our 25DS in January of last year and despite too many little repairs and a less than cooperative service department 1 1/2 hours away. And after 4 local 3 day trips and one 5 week trip from SF to Austin and back, we love it!
And have decided that the name stands for FREE as in yippee - we are free!

Ask A Rep

I thought I would share one of my favorite photos of our 2016 FR3 30DS. Our son and his family (children 5, 7 and 9) left our home in Michigan in the FR3 January 13, 2016 and plan to visit the 48 contiguous states over 11 months. As of today they have traveled 17,000 miles and covered 30 States. This photo was taken while they we in Utah.

Hi Jim,
Wow, that is a beautiful photo!
But I would like to suggest that it would be better suited to this thread:
Pictures of FR3s
Let's leave this thread for questions to Forest River (not that anyone there seems to answer anymore).

We just picked up a 2017 fr3 32ds, completely confused on what the living room tv work in relation to the DVS player and antenna. It seems the outside tv is antenna only and the living room is DVd only, is this correct ? And the two back TVs are antenna only?

Leave us not be so quick to lay blame on FR all together, OK? I will repeat what I said on page 13 of this discussion.
"Unfortunately, I feel that Eric is no longer on this forum. He was in sales and may be to busy to answer any more or not with FR any longer. Which is to bad. While he was with the forum he gave some good advice".
I will also add that I spoke with Eric on 2 occasions when I had a question/problem. That's when I found out what he did at FR. He would read or hear from owners about there concerns and then go to the proper dept. to get an answer and post here on the forum.

Just an addition
I only bought my FR3 two months ago. Used 2014. I live in Indiana and owned several companies one which had done Business with FR3 Manufacturer. My experience had always been very positive which impacted my purchase. Just retired and had many questions. Unannounced I visited facility. They were wonderful. Gave me a tour and spent an hour with wonderful young (I'm 70 and 60 is young) who answered many questions and offered a number of suggestions. I have read a number of negative posts and always wish I knew more. I had well over 1000 employees and although I tried have customer friendly companies we sometimes failed. I would on occasion make phone calls myself to sample support in various companies. My experience in both my own companies and other engagements was that my demeanor had a lot to do with what the result was. I on occasion would man the support/tech service myself. The first 30 seconds of a call set the tone and service the caller will get. 30 seconds of positive vibs/ like what is ur name, are u having a nice day. etc can make all the difference. Just a thought !
