Hi Eric

Glad you are on the Forum. Since you asked I do have one question.

I am in the process of draining the water system for winter storage. I am almost done I think and noticed there is still about 1" of water in the fresh water tank. I have drained everything through the heater, outside shower, and the low point drains that are still open as I am writing this.

I opened the strainer assembly on the pump and no water came out. I am concerned there is water trapped in the pump outlet as the piping is connected just that way, trapped. Anyway, I am more concerned about the fresh water tank.

Any help Please.

Eric,

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to be a FR Rep on the Forums!

I wish every division of FR would do this.

It is normal for the Fresh water tank to still have a little bit of water in it after draining the tank for the winter. If or when this water freezes, it will have the room to expand, and should not crack the tank.

Hi Eric,
Thanks for making yourself available to us. I have been trying to figure out the thermostat operation. I have a 2016 FR3 25DS with the atwood air command ac/ heat pump. When you turn on the heat system but not the furnace the furnace blower operates blowing un heated air at floor level while the heat pump is blowing warm from the ceiling. I have downloaded an operation manual from the Australian Air Command site but it doesn't show the control panel with the furnace button. Thanks for any direction you can give .

Hi,

Most of the kinks have been worked out of our '15 30DS and I freakin' love it.

One question, will the honeycomb grill on the '16 be made available for earlier years? I'm just waiting for a rock or large insect to fly in there and do some dirty work.

Thank you.

Do you remember what the temp outside was at the time? The heat pump used in the AC unit has a cutoff at about 45 degrees F. if the temp is around 45 degrees the system will cycle between the two functions. But let me check to see what are some possibilities for both systems to run at the same time.

If have heard a few different stories on how the product got its name. What is consistent is that the FR part stands for Forest River. The 3 comes from the original idea that this would be a 30AMP line of coach. I have also heard that the 3 originally stood for how many options would be available on the product, but this has changed throughout the amount of time the product has been out on the market place.

Thanks for the quick response. The outside temperature was 60 degrees give or take a couple. It seems as though it does it whenever the heat light on the panel is lit. I would have thought that the furnace would not faze in until it was selected on the thermostat control panel.

Unfortunately the grill cut out changed with the front cap. The new grill cut out is larger and allows for more air flow then what the original cap and grill did. I have seen people add a honeycomb grill to the older caps. But I can't endorse this as it will restrict the airflow to some extent.

I am having my engineers check with Atwood on this, and will post the response when I get it.
