Bedroom Slide Problem

Hi my bedroom slide will not open. The motor is running however it quits after 5-10 seconds. I then gave it a break and then pushed the button along with pushing the slide and it barley moves then quits again. When I bring it in it is struggling big time and quits however it does come in a little. I give it a break again and it brings it in the rest of the way but is still struggling. I think it is the gear box but just wanted to see if anybody else had a similar problem before I start replacing the gear box. Also I cannot manually move my slide in our out using the override tool. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like another motor has bit the dust. Very common on FR (and others also). We've replaced our LR motor/gear so far. Keep waiting for the BR to go (knocking on wood here, lol). Don't just replace the motor. There's a gear drive attached. Replace the whole thing.

It is the gearbox that breaks. The electric motors are very reliable. The gearbox is designed to be the part to break first. Better to replace that small part then bend the framing and get really expensive.

Thanks for the help guys. Anybody have a video on replacing the gear box on Norco accu slides?

Once you get the trim off the top to acess the space where the motor is you basically loosen the cable enough to remove tension and 5 screws hold the motor/gear box assembly. tie the cables up so they dont slip on you. Then just a couple of bolt to remove the gear box from the bracket. Then reinstall new part and reverse the assembly.

Here is a video on adjusting the cables which you will need to do afterwards. Not hard just go step by step in the video.

I just had the same thing happen with my LR side. It was the gearbox but I went ahead and bought both together since it was only $15 more expensive and now I have an extra motor if that ever goes bad. I ordered the parts online from Dyers RV supplies and it arrived in 2 days.
