Better mattress for hide-a-bed?

The mattress on our FR3's coach/hide-a-bed is just awful! We rarely use it ourselves, but occasionally travel with friends. Anyone have a suggestion for a better mattress, and where one might get one?

There have been many that complain about the hide a bed mattress, I have yet to use mine however if it is like what I read about I think I'm going to replace it with and air mattress (blow up camping kind) I did that with my bedroom mattress and I'm very happy.

Just spent a week in Sequoia NP and our eldest son took the mattress off the couch, inflated an air mattress, laid the mattress on top of it and said it worked like a charm.

I added a 2" Memory foam topper, and a Sleeper Sofa Bar Shield. It made a big difference.

Thanks!

I'll try out the Costco option. Much appreciated.

We put one of those 1 1/2'' mattress toppers on ours and it worked a lot better... a 3'' topper would probably feel a lot better but might be hard to fold back up...
The 1 1/2'' rolls up with the bed so we don't have to store it anywhere when the bed isn't in use...
I think the main issue with the hide-a-bed thing is the spring frame isn't very good... so you feel the wires through the mattress...

But an uncomfortable mattress can kind of work in your favor... it cures people from coming with you... like sisters-in-laws and mother-in-laws...

Just say'n

Hard to store. Put a foam pad on top of a blow up
