Bulbs inside and out

So I've been trying to find the fuse that controls the back up lites. And think I found it under the dash. A 10amp mini. But that was not why my back up lights did not work.

This is. Click image for larger version

This 3158 from China was inside a clean and dry tail light housing. The lead so badly corroded that even after cleaning with a fiberglass brush I could not get a good contact.

Buy American!

Next time you wonder how FR was able to manufacture such an entry level coach at a low end price you'll know why. In my opinion they sourced the cheapest parts for almost everything.

This came from a 2014 DS30 with less than 6000 miles on it.

Many of the class A & Class C units have the same style tail lights. Not just Forest River brands.

I find it remarkable that a new bulb terminal that resides in a dry socket could corrode so quickly as to not make contact and cause a failure. Perhaps of all the light bulbs on the motorhome the back up light must be used the least.
