Not sure, but on the 2014 yes you just press a button on the display a couple times, it scrolls through the camera's.

Don't have access to our 28DS at the moment but I believe it was in the settings of the camera on the Pioneer, to set to always on. We have it set that ways on ours.

On my '15 the unit is a Pioneer AVH-X3600BHS and there is an Rear View Key icon on the home screen, press once to toggle it on, press again to toggle it off. When on the rear view always shows, except when the turn signals are active. We use it all the time to make sure the toad is still there.

We have Fr3 28. 2016. Having the same problem with rear camera. After using turn signal rear camera does not come on. It says can't watch video. I read your post but can't find that button to toggle. So currently I am that button! Any further ideas? Thanks

I think you have to go into the settings again, (the two wheel cogs in the upper right hand corner-push them to get into settings) scroll down in its menu to rear camera and turn the rear camera on. The setting seems to default to 'no' a lot.
