Can't replace front end cap

Just informational here, but interesting information. According to my dealership, the front end cap for the 2014 FR3 is no longer made and the mold has been destroyed. I don't know if this applies to the 2015 model or later.

After getting hit (while sitting at a stoplight) by a semi towing a steam roller, there was considerable damage to the front and driver's side of the motorhome - about $45,000 in damage. Insurance company wouldn't total it, so the dealership began ordering parts and mechanical repairs were started and completed, only to find the front end was unrepairable and unreplaceable.

Good news is the MH was then totaled.

So, FR3ers, good luck with repairs if you get hit head on in your 2014 motorhome. It won't be getting fixed.

Woo, f rist glad to hear your okay, 2nd, surprised that they started repairs without knowing they couldn't get all the parts needed. Well your at the 5 yr. Mark , by law that I know of there only required to have parts for 5 years. Hope you got replacement coverage, I would assume that 2019 cost a lot more then a 2014. Getting hit head on and you can still talk about it I congratulate you. Hope your new RV treats you well.

SpicyRV, would you mind sharing who your insurance was with, and what the payout was? I also have a 2014 and would be interested to know. Thanks

In the auto world that wouldn’t be uncommon. Estimate. Get authorization. Order parts. Finish tearing down. Do supplement. It could total it if severe damage was found.
