This is the mount l used, but in this pic the part of the mount that's on the right would be clocked 90 degrees so as to clamp on the pole of the ladder. Then just use one of the 4 screws of the mounting bracket to attach a good grounding wire that you'll run down and under your motor home finding a good place on the frame to attach the other end of that grounding wire.

Using a 4' fire fly antenna and a 50' hunk of coax you should see a 1.3 SWR.

I use a K30 mag mount on the roof of my pickup coupled to a Bearcat CB. The combo works good except 1.3-1.4 is the best I can do on the SWR's. It still makes the trip though.

Take the truck out somewhere free of cars, power lines, any sort of obstruction. Like the middle of a football field. Measuring the SWR only when the trucks doors are closed, try adjusting/trimming the antenna again.

Although really 1.3 - 1.4 ain't bad.

You can get small inexpensive manual antenna tuners for 11Mhz. Getting SWR close to 1:1 on CB's is important as many of them contain circuitry to fold back power if antenna match is not good.

I would be more concerned with 50 ft of coax. I would use some low loss like LMR 400 to make the 4 watts go far unless you are running a boot!
