Converting or replacing gas hot water heater with gas/electric

Our 2013 FR-3 came equipped with a gas Suburban hot water heater. (The newer units have a gas/electric heater). How difficult is it to either modify our heater so that it will operate on electricity/or gas or replace it with one that will? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

There are electric conversion elements available for many models. Use Google for source links.

Fr3 is 50 amp ? No ?

Even if it is 30 amp I had no issues for years on 30 amp with electric water heater.

My coach is 30A. Been using it for almost 2 years without a problem.

Edit: Don't let the name of the link fool you, it's about the water heater upgrade.

I have done 3 hot rod upgrades on my 3 motorhomes. Not hard to do, but make sure you connect the power through a plug-in or switch so you can shut it off if your water tank is empty and you are plugged into power.
