Defroster only

I am only getting air out of the defroster vents. Before I make the two hour trek back to the dealer does anyone have any ideas what the problem may be?

When you turn the knob for the regular vents, do you hear any noises under the dash? It could be the damper (air flow diverter). Mine failed a couple of weeks ago on the Dodge. $170 to fix.

No noises from under the dash and if I manually push the damper/diverter close air will then come out the vents, but I also do not think there is any vacuum to/from the damper

Is this an e450? If so I would call your local ford dealer if it is still in warranty. That is probably where the rv dealer will take it.

I would take a look at the vacuum lines, sounds like one fell off going to the heater controls

Problem solved!

After several hours of tracing all six vacuum lines found the one coming off the vacuum tank kinked as it passed thru the firewall. Problem solved!
