Desperate immediate help needed

It's Sunday ... Dealerships are closed.. and we are full timers! We got locked out of our FR3 2015 30 D's. . The only window opened was that tiny bedroom window in the slide so managed to slide a stick in and get the emergency window open ...

Long story short. The lock is broke. We managed to get it off but how the heck do we figure out the right one to buy ? Is there a model numbrr

I don’t know what kind of door lock you have but they make after market style door locks. I replace my factory lock with rv lock and it was the best thing I did. It’s a combo style lock.
In the future I would place a hidden key someplace in case this happens in the future.

We have. A hidden key... I guess you missed the part about the door lock being broken. I'm also sitting here with an electric combination door lock that we purchased but it's much too small for the hole in the door.

Do the lock company's make a plate that goes over larger holes

It appears to be a standard RV lock. You can find model numbers here.
http://www.rvlocksandmore.com/LocksKeys/Entrance-Locks

Is the deadbolt locked or just the handle?

If just the handle is locked you can take the 4 screws out and there should be a model number there. You could just order it already keyed with the same key if you want.

If your deadbolt it locked you may need to saw it off from the inside.

Best of luck!

Happened to us recently. FR sent us new lock despite out of warranty.

In our case the plunger bolt broke, so we could still use the deadbolt while waiting on parts.

The whole assembly has part # Trimark 060-1650. $75 eBay little more on RV sites.

The outside part of the sandwich assembly has part # Trimark 29412-08 03H and is the part which includes the broken plunger bolt and can be bought for less.

Takes 1 minute to replace.

FR3 lock

This is a chronic problem with FR3 door locks. Search for a fix. I replaced our lock after being locked in. I replaced our door lock with a Tri-Mark 060-1560 lock. It covers the hole adequately but I did have to widen the door interior hole a little and replace the dead-bolt lugs. It is doable and does the job. It does require two keys now.

On our previous FR 2015 Georgetown we got locked in twice. Trimark knows about the door lock failures but has only had a recall on a few models. Regardless, they sent me free replacements in both cases. Thereafter I always kept a screwdriver inside. By the way, please report any such incidents online to the NHTSB.

Thanks vince... It's not our first time locked out either! . But we couldn't get back in with a screwdriver! We used a long stick tied a loop on the end of it.... And opened that tiny window in the bed slide.. put the stick in and looped the string over the emergency window latch. Boom the window was open... Who is the NHTSB?
