With that kind of luck, you should go buy a lottery ticket. Lol

I probably should have added that my slide in truck campers don't have all the complexities of a travel trailer, fiver or motorhome either....

Last time I bought a lottery ticket, I hit for 5 grand btw. One ticket. I figure my luck ran it's course so I have not bought another....

Sort of like going to a casino and gambling. The casino expects you to loose, thats how they make money. Not on me.

Awesome on your lottery winnings. Truck camper to Prevost they all seem to have issues. Some folks are luckier than others. Being handy is always a plus with any of these units.

If you are going to buy that far away you might want to buy from RVW. I'm not sure if they handle the unit you are interested in but you will probably get a good price and they have a great reputation for setting up warranty repairs. Good luck.

Pulled the trigger

So, we have decided to buy the 2017 30DS with the X package from the dealer in MI. Fly up next Wednesday to pick it up and drive back to KC. Very excited!
One question - is the extended (7 year?) warranty worth the money (about $4k)?

Get the popcorn out...

The option is always there to add the warranty later. I have decided to "wait" on the extended warranty, because I mostly don't want to "waste/spend" the money if I don't need to. The way I see it I will have 1 or 2 years warranty...and if it gives me trouble.. I will opt for the extended warranty. The main difference to me is that I won't have as much stuff to tear-up on the little unit I ordered, whereas your coach has many more systems that are automated/electronic.... and 7 years is a long time if you plan to keep it. You'll get many different opinions on this subject my friend. Keep in mind that an extended warranty will run concurrent with your first years mfg. warranty so in a sense you don't get the real benefit of the 7 years. If I had to do it over again I would wait and purchase later. Buying it from the dealer when buying the MH is, in my mind, never a good deal. Sure, the payments are added to your monthly payment but, you end up paying over the term of the contract.
There are quite a few companies selling EW. Best to check them all out. Even if you purchase now. We found a 4 year plan that fit our budget very nicely. And, it's renewable and transferable.

Also, the dealer is pushing a paint sealant, formulated with some kind of polymer to provide a long lasting shine without polishing. Comes with 5 year warranty for $1200. I read somewhere on the forum about a spray on, wipe off product that might do the same thing. Anyone have thoughts about this?

No paint sealant or wax should cost more than 500 in my opinion. Check the product and shop around before taking that plunge. I'm not saying whether the product or treatment is Good or bad idea but if you look around no treatment should be in a 1200 dollar range.

Keep in mind. Any add on from the dealer, or parts for that matter, will cost you a lot more than if you went out and shopped round. JMHO
