Dometic Toilet Issues

Reading several posts, I saw that the Dometic 300 toilet has leaked on some folks. We are picking up a new FR3 this week, so I'd like to know what to do about it. Should I ask our dealer to replace it? Or do I have to wait until we have a problem before I can do anything about it.

If you know what to do please advise - Thanks!!!

As I understand this issue Dometic has agreed to replace the 300 with a 310.

Be sure and bring this up at the dealer.

Get in touch with Dometic and get a 310 on it's way if your dealer will not.

More recent posts indicate that the have redesigned the 300 and are shipping new versions of that.

As of a week ago, Dometic is now shipping a revised seal design on the 300 model. I was fortunate to receive one of the last 310 they shipped. I suspect that the toilet serial number in your new RV will identify if it is a revised model 300. If not, I strongly recommend you have the toilet changed to the revised unit. I poured out about 3/4 cup of liquid impregnated with feces and urine from the interior of my old model 300. The toilet had 17 days of use by two adults to collect the liquid!

Ah, I stand corrected.

I think the post I saw may have been an older one, should have posted a link...

Received the revised Model 300 Friday as promised by Dometic. Installed today, so far no odor.

Dometic 300 toilet replacement

I bought my 2014 FR3 in May 2014. First long trip was in June 2014. After 10 days of camping we discovered that we had the old 300 model (which was a nightmare - wasted a lot of time trying to troubleshoot before I went to forum to discover I was not the only one). I used cell phone to take a picture of the serial number. I took coach to nearest repair facility in rurual midwest. He did not believe the toilet was the problem, but was nice about removing it to discover that it was indeed a problem. One call to Dometic with serial number and they shipped repair facility a modified 300 in two days along with warranty paperwork. Dometic was super nice about it. Technician installed it and tested it in 20 minutes. It did not cost me anything. Has been 3 days now - hoping problem fixed.

Where do you find the serial number on the toilet.

on another note would like to have a toilet that has a hand sprayer attached Has anyone ever added a sprayer? If so how hard was it to do or what is cheapest conversion? etc?
