Door latch still a problem

The door latch on our 2 month new 2016 fr3 failed this am locking me in the coach and my 2 young children outside. Luckily my 40 something butt fit out the window. Locks work fine, interior mechanism for the latch seems broken. Frustrating that this seems to be a reoccurring problem and a serious safety issue. Supposed to have service 2maro to replace the radio which. Failed last week (no cameras). Guess I'll have to scale the wall like a monkey until then and toss the kids in and out of the window -

Our 2014 30DS door lock started acting up while we were on our last long trip. Locked us in 2 times. Luckily we were able to hand the keys out the window to our travel companions and they were able to unlock it from the outside. My winter project, along with other repairs, will be to replace the mechanism.

If that's what broke you can open from inside with screw driver.

Faulty Door Latch

We had the same situation with our 2015 Salem Ultra-Lite. Had to boost my wife thru the dining room window. The dead bolt mechanism binded inside the body causing it to lock in place. Very poor design. You might check with your dealer about a recall of these locks. Since we were on the road at the time, I purchased a chrome lock and installed it myself. Haven't had another problem, but we don't use the dead bolt latch that often.

We had what might have been the same problem, FR3 30ft 2014.
the door was hard to open. it turned out to be the latch and the door jam was
not aligned any more. I loosened the screws that held the latch and moved it into alignment, worked good since then. I did not have any broken parts just loose and it moved.

Good luck

If you have a Trimark lock, go to Sunseeker and search for trimark. I started a blog concerning these locks and my troubles and solution.

The door and latch on our 2014 30DS is made by Atwood. Anyone know if the Trimark 1650 can be used on our Atwood door? It looks pretty close from what pictures I've seen.
