Fantastic fan
Has anyone installed one of these in there FR3? I feel like I want to but not sure what roof vent to install it in. Easy installation and wire hook up will be my key factors in location. Also what wires do you plug into? And how do you know what's + and - . I'm a huge chicken when it comes to wires.

I had three of them put in by the dealer before I left the lot as part of my deal, one in each vent. You definitely want one in the kitchen and the bathroom.

Well I just ordered a fantastic fan from camping world. It's on sale so I'm putting the cart B4 the horse as they say here. As far as installing this gadget, no worries, my only 2 worries are what vent location to use (kitchen, bathroom or bedroom) and tapping into a power source. Any help in this would be so very much appreciated. Oh gosh thanks a bunch eh.

If you use the vent in the bathroom which may have a powered fan there use that or fish a wire over to a light.
In the living/dining room you will most likely need to fish a wire to a nearby light for power.
One for the ground and one for power, they may come with the fan.

Being a chicken about wiring is a good thing to admit before diving in. That being said, the power you're looking for with this fantastic fan will be 12 volt as opposed to 110 volt which could hurt you more.
Schematics for wiring details in the RV are pitiful at best, and that's common across the industry. Hopefully, after you remove the plastic trim collar around the vent you already have, you may find the manufacturer already has run wiring to this area for the very thing you're trying to do............they were there in our Georgetown kitchen area. I also upgraded the existing fan unit in our bathroom, so the wiring was already there.
To determine + from -, a continuity tester will let you know what the - lead is when you touch the other end to a known ground. The color code in our rig was brown was + (12V) and white was - (grd). Doesn't' mean that's the way for everyone so check it out.

The bathroom in our 2015 FR3 30DS didn't come with a fan in that roof vent but the wires may be there.

In the bedroom there is a light both fore and aft of the roof vent. So a wire may run right along the side of that roof vent.

If there is it will be behind the vents inside trim, remove four screws and pull it straight down.
If not is there a light close by?

I'm going to check the bathroom vent to see if wires are sitting there, if so that's the location I'll use for my new fanatic fan.

I would suggest anywhere but the bathroom for a Fantastic Fan.
Sometimes it may draw poop smell into the RV since it is so powerful.

Oh i think you'll want one in the bathroom!
Just don't have it on when "flushing"!
You'll want to have it on especially when taking a nice hot shower as it will be HOT AND HUMID in there!
And if your trying to keep your unit cool you'll understand.
Besides that you'll have condensation all over that bathroom!

Respectfulness noted :-)
Our shower has one of the small factory fans in it that works fine for us.
And since our bathroom door is normally closed, it doesn't seem like the ideal place for a fantastic fan that moves lots of air.
Our fantastic fan is in the kitchen, but our last rig it was in the bedroom. Both location and worked great for moving air through the rig.

The vents were all pre-wired in my FR3 at all three vent locations for a 12V powered fan. I could not imagine not having an in/out fan at least in the bath and kitchen. Bedroom is nice for night. Best wishes to you and happy trails!
