First look at FR3

I saw an FR3 for the first time the other day. What were the stylists thinking? The front end looks like an early 1950's Citroen panel truck. I'm not in the market right now but the front-end appearance put me right off. Definitely not on my list!

1950's?? Wow that's great! They should make more of today's vehicles look more like the vehicles of the 50's. True works of art, in my HOP eh.

It sure payed off have 3 coats of wax on the front of JeNNY. She had 100,00,000 bugs on her all smashed to her front end. It only took me about a hour to was JeNNY this afternoon. I didn't do the roof, but plan to wash and treat the roof with 303 next weekend. And at that time I'll give the sides another wash, and another coating of hand wax to the front end eh.

Why come on a site for FR3 owners and bash the way they look. I see that you are no longer an RV'r. So what happened to make you so bitter?

We love our 2014 FR3 except for the Ford engine. We are having problems with frequent loss of RPM'S. That can be rather disconcerting when you're on freeways, surrounded by big semi's and your motorhome won't accelerate. We're still trying to get Ford Motor Company to fix the problem.

Just expressing an opinion! We're ex-RVers because of the cost. When we started, gas was $1.50. State Parks were $10 and commercial CGs were $15 - $20. Our first rig got 6 mpg.

Our last rig got 8 mpg, but our last trip down the Oregon coast, gas was over $4.00 everywhere we went. SPs are now $27 and some of the fancier commercial CGs are above $60. Just couldn't do it on SS and a retiree pension.

Sweet. I love 50's vehicles and my FR3 even more now. We also looked at the new Winnebago Tribute before going FR3. Being 70's kids, my wife and I both had the toy Winnebago and were enamored by the concept of the Tribute. We thought the interior was fantastic, very sleek, but just couldn't appreciate the exterior now. We tried, but it just wasn't for us. I hope to see some out there.
