FR3 Air Conditioner Question

We're camping in Georgia and have been using the A/C and noticed something odd with our unit. The A/C will be running fine and suddenly the fan will stop for about a second or two and then begin again. I can hear the A/C compressor/condenser are still running during this time. The fan mode is set to "Auto" and I'm wondering now of it might not be switching from high fan to low fan? Has anyone else seen this and is it normal?

Is your thermostat showing any codes like "E04"?

Is your a/c 13500 or 15000? And is generator a 4000w

Mine is doing the same thing. Would really like to hear if any one else is experiencing the same situation. Was going to mention it to dealer on first service

Its the fan switching speeds.

Normal. No smooth transition of speeds like some of the older ones.

This is normal--it is switching speeds when on the auto position.

I set the fan to "Hi" and set the thermostat back to cool and it has been running fine. I may put it on "Lo" tonight for the added quiet. I'll set it back to "Au" in the cold weather, when I want to use the heat, so the A/C blower doesn't run when the heat is on.

You need to have this checked ASAP. I had the same problem in AU mode. The dealer told me to put it on high fan. That worked for about six hours and now the fan and A/C will not work. They both just click when trying to power on. After ruining our vacation with no A/C and waiting for over a month to get into service, we dropped it off today.

My unit had only been used once when this happened. It is brand new and I have had nothing but problems. Mine is the 15000 unit.

Mine just starting doing this also. Hope it's just fan speed changes. Very noticeable. Currently on route to Myrtle Beach so gonna need it?....

It is just the way the fan changes speed on automatic. It is designed that way.

does anyone have problems with water draining from AC over driver side window ?

The water draining is not a problem its designed that way. I didn't like it so I went to Walmart got some RV gutter extensions and it stopped the flowing down the side of the coach. There have been time when the leveling of the coach caused the water to run down the back of the coach.

The packaging has installation instructions. I did reinforce mine with RV GOOP also available in the RV section at Walmart

With the Fan in auto while running the AC the fan will change speeds automatically depending on how far apart the inside air temperature is from what the Thermostat is set at within about 3 degrees it will switch the fan to slow and over 3 degrees it will switch the fan to hi. I have a thermostat instruction brochure that came with thermostat controller I bought when I installed a heat strip in my unit that explained the fan functions and settings. the fan speed changing with a pause is normal with the fan set to auto as the inside temp changes. Auto will also shut the fan off when the desired temp is reached.

There is so much to learn about what you can do with your RV. I'm curious where you ran the gutters to? And where does the water drain from now? I'd love to relocate the dripping on ours.

The gutter extension just extend the ends of the gutter an inch or so from the side of the coach. The water drips out in the open not down the side of the coach.
