A/C

We just purchased a 2015 fr3, we heard the new ones are coming with the 18k units and shower door, the dealer agreed to install these items for us at his cost, we picked the coach up in Elkhart and drove it back here to NC.... We just tried plugging in the unit to out outside house outlet, GFI, and the unit keeps blowing a circuit breaker at the main panel in our house..... Is this unit drawing to much amps, don't know, just called the dealer waiting for a call

The air conditioner pulls about 18 amps. If you are plugged in at home to a 15 amp circuit or even a 20 amp and you have 100 feet of 16 gauge extension cord the unit will kick out the circuit breaker. Plus if you are plugging into anything other than a 30 amp circuit and are running anything else, again the circuit will trip.

Oh GFI's do not play nice with Air-conditioners.

Thanks for info, we are taking it to a campground tomorrow and try our first ever camping trip. Maybe the 30 amp hookup at the campground resolves the issue. Thanks

give up and install second unit- you will not be happy or comfortable until you do. I purchased a dometic Black colored 13500 on line with free shipping for $475, had it installed by local rv maint person for $150--- nice installation. only drawback is that you have to have a separate power cord 115 volt to run out to your 30 or 50 amp pedalstal --- takes all of 2 minutes to do that. and voila you got cold air. One real good byproduct, if you are listening to tv in living area, the front ac is very loud, turn it if (if it isn't too hot) and let the rear ac do the cooling, much quitter.

Ifyou have to park in the sun and the temps hit high 90"s you definitely will need the second ac.
