FR3 Bed Slide Poll
It would be helpful to understand which configurations are having the gear problem. We have an early 2014 30DS with the queen bed.
We have over 7500 travel miles on the coach and we have opened and closed the slides literally over a 100 times with no issues. We may be one of the lucky ones...
Please respond to this thread by selecting one of the following:
2014 30DS/Queen Bed
2014 30DS/King Bed
2015 30DS/King Bed
2014 25DS/King Bed
2015 25DS/King Bed
In a few weeks I will tally the results and post it.
It may be that the king size bed configuration is too heavy but the data should give us a clue.

Late 2014, October, 25DS King. Bed slide died after about two months. Maybe 12 times in and out.
Scheduled service, two weeks later no part. Called FR Warranty and they overnight end part.
Since replacing entire gear and motor assembly we have used it a lot and never an issue. I do fold the mattress before and fold the boards as they come in. Also make sure the boards do not jam against bathroom wall at the beginning of going out.

2014 25DS/King Bed
2014 25DS/King Bed Gear Box broke 1st time out.
I spent night on bed with mattress folded in half. Wife tried to sleep in the dining bed. Great for kids, not so great for her. With the bed all fixed, the king is great...
Bed was stuck half way out. Called dealer, we were 90 miles from home, and he called the Slide company. They said to "help" it in by pushing from the outside while the wife ran the "in" button. That worked. Got it into the shop within 2 weeks and they replaced the gear box. Great service from Freedom RV in Liberty Lake, WA...

2014 (I think it's 2014.5) 25DS. Our second trip the king bed slide broke but I was not surprised because of the forum posts.
2-3 weeks at the dealer to fix it.

2015 fr3 30ds/king
25 nights on the road, 1,459 miles, slides in and out 12 times with no problems yet. I'm going to be spraying dry lube on all of my slide cables per the dealers instructions at the walk thru.

2014 30DS with queen and 4" memory foam topper built in February 2014. No issues yet, a half-dozen trips with probably 30+ slides. Fingers crossed.

Interesting 30DS with Queen seems to be no issue.
25DS with king seems to be the issue.
Kudos for starting a thread to help see the problem by make/model.

2014 FR3 30DS queen 1 year old
10000 miles 50 days camping 5 people probably 100 slide operations no issue yet I think problem is in bed hinge on newer version and people not letting go of button when slide is in or out, and clutching motor.
But like I said previously it's just a bad design, to hard to adjust, too weak. Mechanics don't want to work on it.

For over pressing simple limit switches would prevent that issue.
It looks like for the bed slide on the 25DS FR took a page right out of the ole' "Engineering Around Physics" Handbook for Dummies!

You could just add a "poll" to this thread and folks could just vote.
Then you could have a running total.
