We are camping in the driveway tonight - temps dipping below freezing in NC so plugged in and running tank warmers/hot water heater. But the furnace won't stay running. It will run for 10 mins or so but then shuts off. I have to switch the furnace off and switch the fan to auto momentarily then back to furnace so it will kick back on. Propane tank is almost at half. And hot water heater turned off/not running at this point. It did this the last two trips out earlier in the year but started working ok after a couples of resets. Now that I typed all this in it is working now. Could it be a thermostat problem? Got a bug screen on the exhaust so should not be a dauber nest or something. Thanks!

I believe the furnace is shutting off due to over temp. There might be a restriction on the ductwork. Do you have any registers blocked? With my trailer if the dog crate is over one register it will shut off on high temp.

I have one better for you. I have 2 furnaces and at random times, both will shutoff to the point that the fuses have to be pulled and reset. Once this is done the furnaces may run for days without issue. Not only has this happened to me, but also to my friend who has the exact same model coach, bought at the same time. Although I'm not entirely convinced of what the issue is, our consensus is that the regulator is freezing up.
My guess is you are lower on gas than you think. The gas gauges are estimators. Low temp makes it worse, for reasons others can better explain. Also it's possible to have your regulator freeze up.
See the "frost halts system" discussion in article below, and even assuming it is not halted note what happens. "A tank will meet load demands until gas is removed faster than boiling can replace it." I had this happen to me with our propane powered generator when the tank was low and the outside temperature was very low. It would run for a few minutes and then shut down. After a few more minutes, it would restart and run for a few more minutes, then shut down again.
bar27613, i posted a similar problem on ask the rep. the problem i had was the furnace would shut down until the chamber temp dropped down. My heat chamber temps would go high enough to trip the over temp switch and shut down the heater. The problem with mine was there was not enough ducting to keep the chamber temps down. The answer for me was to put in an additional duct and the problem went away.
Check the air flow from all the registers. I had some of the flex duct work crushed by romex that was too tight. If you have one or more ducts blocked it will cause heat box to overheat.
