FR3 Rear Camera Sound

I noticed that there is a microphone clipped to the front console that according to the dealer works with the rear camera system? Ok, How?

Thanks guys! Makes sense. The dealer actually told me that the microphone was used so that you could talk to someone in the back of the rig while using the rear camera to hook up to a trailer. I accepted that since you can actually see the rear trailer hitch via the camera.

You know what FR should do? Don't ship any user manual stuff with the RV and just include the URL for this site. It more accurate, faster and calls are always returned.

At least your dealer made a guess. When I asked if the mic was for the bluetooth he looked at me and said, "what mic".

The original camera in my Sunseeker had sound. You could hear a person talking, traffic, wind etc. The camera was not always working properly and was replaced by Forest River with a new one which does not have sound.

We have no mic that I know of,,, I did find the little book about the camera yesterday,,, and a small remote,,, that got berried somewhere ???
The thing is sometimes you have different things or they are hooked up different than the books !!! Anyway it says it is a one way audio,,, driver can not talk back !!! We will be checking it out next time we move the MH,,, also I hate to admit that I did not know it was supposed to have lights when backing up @ night ??? Guess I will need DW to check that for me !!!
LOL !!!

I failed to mention that our Sunseeker is a 2013, and the original camera was one way audio.

Well, looks like I have to do some more investigation. It is DEFINATELY a microphone. It is a lapel mic with a collar clip on it. The clip went to the edge of the lower left console. I have never heard any sound coming from the area when the rear camera was on. The radio does have blue tooth, but audio systems I have seen do not use an external mic for this connectivity.

It is for Bluetooth with the dash radio to work with your phone for hands free conversations.

The video feed is fairly clear at night, but I don't know if it has a light or some other type of tech.
