Fresh Water Tank Issue
I'm not a newbie and never had this issue with my FR3, but today's issue has me baffled.
I'm at the campground and only hooked up to the City Water connection. Just noticed water leaking from the Fresh Water tank overflow. The tank was left below 1/4 and no water was added. If I turn off the water connection the overflow leak stops.
Any idea how the tank could fill from the city connection?
Thanks,

most likely the one way valve in the water pump is being held open or is damaged.

I've had the exact same thing happen 2 times in the last 16 months. Cured the problem by shutting the city water off, used the pump to run the tank down for that day's water use, shut off the pump, turned the city water back on. The valve just gets stuck occasionally and will fill the fresh water tank. The drip will always let you know.

Leisure Larry,
Did the same and it worked like a charm. There must be debris in the lines or something.
In any case, thanks for the suggestion!

You have some type of debris in the check valve area of your fresh water pump. Speck of calcium or something like that. May have take the pump apart a little and clean it up. Not too hard to do,

There isn't a black tank flush on my 201430DS. What year is your FR3?

Welder,
It's a 2015. Still no further issue with the valve.

Your welcome Go_postal_91! I have an early "15", came without a black water tank flush. I installed for less than $25.00 for the part. The only way to go!

Hook up a hose from a spigot to the black water tank flush. Hook up your sewer hose, of course you'll need to be at dump site. Open the valve to your black water tank and turn on the spigot. I use a clear 45 between the coach and the sewer hose to keep track of the action. Rinse until clear, simple as that! I also use a separate hose just for the black water tank flush.

So leisurelarry, when we dump at a campground we cannot use the black water flush because there is no way to hook a hose to a spigot to get water. Am I thinking we need to do this at home?

Most, but not all, dump stations have a water spigot for cleaning up any sewer spillage. Just hook your hose up to the spigot and let it run a few minutes. Make sure the tank valve is in the open position. Best to use the flusher before things dry up in the tank.

Yes imcruzn, there are some dump sites that do not have a hose to attach to your black water flush, only a hose to clean up the drain area. I usually am in a full hook up site where I can use a hose splitter and hook up a hose for my fresh water and a hose for my black water flush. Other wise, yes I flush at home. I am blessed and have a dump site where I live.

Three times I've had to open the pump and clear all the faucets and even the input to the head because jiblets of plastic that were left in the fresh water tank when the factory installed the level sensors, input spout an pickup spout. Not sure I will ever get it all out. Each time I add fresh water, it stirs up a new batch. Wish it were calcium, I can disolve that with ease. Plastic, not so easy.

fpo1123, it was very simple to install. You need a hole saw to cut the hole in the side of the tank and some silicone sealant to make sure it's watertight. The directions are in the package. You can get them at any camping world and most RV supply stores. I got mine on Amazon.

That Happened To Us,,,In The Desert
The very same thing happened to us. I called Forest River and spoke to a warranty person. He said there could be two issues, one, they did not install the plumbing correctly and two, there could be the issue with the valve. We have an appointment to take the rig into a Forest River dealer to sort things out. One thing we haven't been able to locate is the pesky valve. Can anyone help?
Also, our 2015 did not come with a black tank flush inlet. We purchased a clear attachment that affixes to the main sewer pipe on the rig and it has a connection for a hose and a valve to allow the water to be turned off and on. We've used that several times but I'm not sure just how clean it gets. While at Camping World today, they have several flexible wands that can be passed into the black water tank through the commode with a water hose affixed to it. Some of the pricier ones have rotating heads and make sense to me. We may just get one of those as we already have the dreaded control-panel-indicates-tank-2/3 full-when-we-just-finished-emptying-it.

I posted pictures from when I installed my black tank flush. I'll find them and post them. The installation was easy and the flush is priceless!
