Fresh Water Tank Siphoning

We had the siphoning problem last weekend in our 28DS so I was doing some searching on this forum about it and ran across this post:
FR3 30DS 2015 fresh water tank size?

The para below is a quote from the discussion link above.
BTW, FR fix for the over flow is to add a longer hose and coil it three times on top of the tank before taking it out the bottom. As explained this way the water cannot get to the point of draining by siphon.

In that post it talked about adding a longer overflow hose to the FW tank but I had a question about adding 3 coils to the new longer overflow hose. So this "coil" talked about in the para above; would that be a horizontal coil on top of the FW tank or would you want to coil the overflow hose vertically to create a Ptrap situation?

It's actually the vent for the holding tank not an overflow but does indicate when the tank is full. The coil (loop) should be vertical and maybe above the tank if possible.

Thanks bubbles. I have not fully decided if I want to go this route or just not fill the tank to the top when adding FW..
