Front grill on FR3

Hi, just purchased my 25ds. Only taken a couple of short trips. How can I keep the radiator from catching bugs. Also any special tips on cleaning the radiator?

Take a look at "Rock found in ac condenser" on the fourth page of this forum posted bu Brewster McFrick. There are a lot of good ideas in that posting.

People have been putting screen wire in front of radiators since cars started running fast enough to catch bugs in the radiators with no ill effects as long as you clean the screen. Remember, you are forcing air into the radiator when you're on the highway. You used to be able to buy special made screens to go in front of the grills, back in the olden days!

Used black outdoor zip ties to attach.

Colorfor64 I used outdoor grade zip ties. Cut the scream big, start at the top working down. Trim to fit as you go eh.

If you drill the holes for the zip ties in the bottom of each cross bar it works just as well and you can not see any of the zip ties.
You will have to use the top of just the lowest crosspiece.

I made the mistake drilling the holes at the bottom of the openings. If you look at the pic I posted, above, you'll notice 3 spots on the left grille on the openings. Those are the ties. I realized this, too late, and I drilled the holes on the right side grille at the top of the openings and, you don't see the ties.

I think we are saying the same thing. Drill the holes at the top of the opening, the bottom edge of the frame crosspiece.
