Generator exhaust extension

Anyone else install an extension on the generator exhaust pipe? The kit I see shows it the extension pipe going straight up in the air anchored to the motor home. We have the main slide in the way.

If you plan on using the Gen-turi extension, you'll need to add an elbow to be able to go around the slide.

Found off the shelf parts at Auto Zone. Installed a right angle 2 and half inch pipe and a 5 ft pipe extension. Connects to the Venturi exhaust (that already had the upward facing right angle) with no modifications and allows the slide to open and run the gen with the Venturi pipe chimney connected.

I also found that raising the gen exhaust pipe was easily done. Pipe is held on to the muffler with a 2 inch clamp. Removed the top clamp, cut top of pipe back three inches, cut notch in pipe and reinstalled. The pipe hanger had to be moved up.

ikeeddy.. No, it does not make it any quieter. The generator exhaust on the F
R3 is right under the living room slide out. Occasionally, exhaust fumes tend to come up into the coach. The Gen-turi takes the exhaust up over the coach to eliminate this problem, but, an extension is needed in order to attach it so's not to hit the slide.

The upright portion is an off the shelf Venturi exhaust kit.

You guys are awesome. I bought the gen Turi before I bought my FR3 and was then disappointed when I saw where the exhaust was located. The pictures were a huge help. 👍
