On our Coachmen Pursuit with the generator in almost the same place. We also had generator problems. Ended up insulating the fuel line and installing a fuel pump near the fuel tank and a new pump at the generator. Last year when we went to FL it kept shutting down while driving. The heat from the road, exhaust, and unit was vapor locking the fuel supply. Tried to insulate the fuel line first. This allowed it to run for approximately 20-30minutes longer before it would shut down.
After the booster pump was added and main pump replaced we were able to sit in stop and go traffic in 85 degree weather in FL a couple weeks ago and no problem. Now to get some Goodyear tires that do not shake at anything over 50 mph.
