Generator shut down in Arizona 105 deg temperatures

Has anyone experienced the 4000k generator shutting down in 100+ degree temperature? Is this common. Are there any modifications to help the air cooled generator withstand running in desert temperatures?

Yep. See my posts in the Coachmen section and see if it pertains to your situation.

I have a 2005 GT LX 370 looking for the plug valve so I can change my coolant. Any info would be great.

We had the same problem and after replacing the fuel filter and pump it did the same thing, felt like it was running out of gas. What ours was doing was vapor locking. Went to home Depot and purchased flexible pipe insulation and aluminum foil pipe wrap and insulated as much of the flexible gas supply I could find. Been through some 115 degree weather and the gen never missed a beat. Hopefully this helps.

Could be an auto overheat shutdown feature
on your generator motor as well. Have you got the gen unit well shaded and ventilated?

Not sure this would help try placing a 120 volt fan under the generator to blow cool air onto the gen set.
