Genset shuttin down--door damaged by heat

Hey guys, I know this topic has been discussed in Georgetown, but anyone else in the SW having genset issues due to the desert heat? On the road the genset shuts down after an hour or two. The panel door to the coach, is starting to get funky inside from the heat--the coating on the inside of the door has begun to bubble and disfigure.....must be excessive heat from the genset and chassis?
This is not due to the fuel tank dropping past a certain point, I had 4/5th of a tank last weekend and the genset (and air) was off when we got to our site about 40 minutes from home. Are the new models vented? I have a 2015 28ds. BTW--I do not think we have this issue once parked.
Thx Barry

Genset shuttin down--door damaged by heat

I believe, FR started putting vents on the doors for 2016/2017. We called them and they sent us a vent and instructions. My husband was able to install the vent without any problem.

Yes, my husband cut it with a dremel and it was easy to slide in place.

I contacted the customer service number for Forest River and asked for the FR3 department.

If you have an Onan generator with a side door covering the intake vent (even if there is a ~2" space between the door, you'll probably have issues. Your gen will vapor lock causing it to starve for fuel until it cools down. Then it'll start after a cool down period.

Sounds like it might be a good idea to bungy Gen door open when parked !!!
Maybe I will even add a door clip to hold the door open ???
