Congrats StephanFR3! I'm sure you'll like it there, Lee Vining is a great base location for day trips into Yosemite and many other spots along 395. May I suggest you take a trip to Bodie if you get an opportunity. By the way, I also tow a Corolla behind my 30DS.

Update; Took a second pebble to the already broken wind shield in AZ on I 40 west of flagstaff common theme born were vehicles merging on on ramps. Also coming down a hill and an RV I was about to pass kicked a piece of muffler pipe up and it went clunking down the middle between my wheels. Could not find any damage. ... While in Oasis rv park in Las Vegas giving the beast a good look over found screw in front right tire but tread was so thick no leak. But found left inboard 10 lb low and another 10 lb the next day. They have air at the dump station at Oasis. Sprayed soapy water on valve extension couldn't see anything but will look again. Can't wait see bottom of tire right now.

Form experience: if chip/crack is in drivers line of sight, your insurance should replace the windshield. If the chip/ crack is not in drivers line of sight then insurance just repairs. Depends on your insurance and deductible. Bottom line - call your agent. If it is not monetarily feasible to deal with insurance, I'd just repair the chip myself and take care of it when I got back home. Been there done that and have the tee shirt, cap and mug to prove it.

According to his post it's cracked now and to late to fix. Depending on your coverage it should be replaced no matter where the crack is. At least that's how my coverage works. They will do on site replacement also. Later RJD

If you need a campground in the Lone Pine area, Boulder Creek RV Resort, is a nice park especially if you have dogs. Large enclosed are plenty of space to run.

Yosemite camp grounds
Found out most camp grounds at Yosemite can only handle 24 foot or less but at least 2 camp grounds can handle larger rigs. But what was interesting was they hold half their sites for first come first served, people lined up at 6 am at camp ground to get available spots. Also at 2p they give out the no shows.

WOW! That is GREAT information Stephan. Yosemite is one of our future trips so we haven't started researching yet. This insight will come in very handy! BTW, great pic.
Thanks!

I would get a home base at Mono Vista in Lee Vining just in case and check from there.

Went to Bodie wish I had only taken the car that was a rough road.
