Thumbs up Greetings, and gratitude

Hi everyone,

I have been "lurking" on the FR3 forum for many months, while I read every post.

When I started researching the purchase of our first RV, I fairly quickly narrowed down our shopping list to the FR3, the Thor ACE, and the Winnebago Vista (their respective 30' models). With what I learned on this forum, I felt comfortable making a choice, and we recently took delivery of our brand new 2016 FR3 30DS.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their willingness to share all their experiences, knowledge and ideas. It was a huge factor in helping us make a big decision.

If you would like to see some photos of our rig (with the new "Carmel" color upholstery) and our first trip, you can visit our personal vacation photos website.

Best regards,
Chris Collins

We also had the same experience, this forum has helped us decide on an FR3. We will be picking up our 30DS this Saturday.
I have been lurking for a while and decided to jump in since I am an owner now.

Welcome aboard and glad we didn't scare you off. Most of the issues that I read during my research was that they were fairly minor. And easy to fix for a DIY. Keep us posted on all your mods/tips.

Very similar experience... We also looked at the Vista and the ACE before deciding on the FR3 30DS. Picked ours up on
Tuesday and are now getting it prepped for its maiden voyage to Solvang, CA. There's a few minor to-do items and a new windshield is on its way because of a rock hit on its trip out here but overall we are very happy with our decision. The six hours spent on the walk through was very thorough, we had already spent several hours going over it and doing a test drive when it arrived at the dealership over the weekend. There was even an oral exam at the end on critical systems before we took it home. This is not our first RV or our first FR product, we have owned an OHC, TT's and a 5er but this is our first motor home. From all the reading I have done on this and other forums it seems some people have good experiences and some not so good and the cost or manufacturer of the product seems not to be a factor.... Just luck of the draw I guess, that said, glad I didn't draw an ACE this time, they seemed to have the most complaints...
