Installing clear plexiglass in FR3 Entrance Door

I would like any information on installing a clear plexiglass window in the FR3 Entrance door. Thank you for any install tips.

I would either buy a kit or get some glass cut locally to fit the same one you pull out.

I've thought about this kit before, just haven't gotten around to doing anything about it. But the videos are useful none the less to get an idea how it all goes together. Let us know how it goes.

Send a message via Yahoo to bob caldwell
Both Lexan and Plexiglass will scratch, over time just from cleaning...

I too recommend Lexan. If you get your measurements accurate, you can buy a single sheet at Lowes that will insert for all the sections of the door. Walk in with the right measurements and they'll cut the Lexan sheet into sections for you for free. I did my Kodiak TT a couple of years ago and it cost me about $60 as I recall.

We added a plexiglas insert, sourced and cut to size at Ace Hardware, to the bottom part of our front door. Keeps the cat from messing up the screen.

I'm going to do that to ours too, only in an opaque one so the dogs don't try to go thru the screen when they see something they think they need to investigate without our supervision.

Just remember if using glass in a door it has to be safety glass, tempered glass, and that has to be cut before it is tempered. You cannot cut tempered glass. I worked in a glass shop for years.
