I've decided.
Because of this forum which I have read every post, I have decided to purchase a new 2016 DR3 30'.
You all seem to be ready to help fellow owners and would love to join a group like this.
I also love the fact that Forest River seems to stand behind their motor homes and read this forum in order to make the needed changes.
What more could someone ask for?
Thanks to all!

Rock On
Sweet deal Bob. We're all tinkering and making different Mods to our FR3s, and its most likely that someone can help with whatever issue that may arise with your new purchase. We're enjoying ours for sure.

An rv is a long term hobby, why are you selling it so fast? This will be my 3rd new rv. The depreciation will kill you short term! I hate to be the bearer of bad news and remember, if you go to the time and trouble of selling it yourself you may get more. I'm figuring the following cost to buy a 2016 FR3 30'. The best quote I've gotten so far is $78,000.
Cost: $78,000.00
1st mo. Depreciation: $15600.00. (20%)
Driven back to the dealer
You may get: $63,000.00
Every month you keep it
Cost another. $669.00
That means in 3 years you
Can Take it to a dealer and
Get about: $39,000.00
The 2016 has several improvements over the 2014/2015's. Shower door, slide gear boxs, cup holder on passenger side etc. plus the warranty would be new.
Remember, sell it yourself and you may do better so don't throw anything at me! Lol
The above has been my experience with RV's, boats and cars.
Anybody have different numbers?

Bob, I just don't use it as I thought I might. Too much travel for work. Its still under warranty for about 6 more weeks. I think $78k would be an awesome price for a 2016. $85k is the going for down here in Texas at even the biggest. I agree that depreciation is high but keeping it longer if I am not using it is a waste as well. I paid $85k so I think $72k is a decent price. If no one wants it I guess I'll just keep it. Good Luck and enjoy.

I'm retired so I think everybody is! Haha
You should keep it, my son has a big one and only uses it 4 or 5 times a year. Being from Dallas you can pick soooo many places to go. Try out a few places for a 4-5 day trip with sightseeing to do. Try to pick the better campgrounds (resorts). The activities and especially the people are great. I'd bet you would want to keep it.
I posted my numbers to get input from other owners. See if they agree or call me nuts. Now that I'm retired I need to keep better control of my money.
Happy camping.

Where have you seen the 2016 for 78? Local dealer got 3 and sold for 89k each. Got a new delivery and not motivated to sell for less than what already sold. Texas is 85 but doesn't seem worth the trip. 78 is attractive.
