keeping motorhome cool while parked at home

Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep the motorhome a little cooler while the temp is in the mid 90s? Will the high temps damage anything while it is parked at my home? All replies are appreciated.

I turn on the thermostatic vent fan and open the windows a bit. Tends to help.

I tinted all my windows (except the windshield and the lower font side windows). I made reflectex covers for these windows using the aluminized bubblewrap stuff.

I have MaxxAire covers so I leave the top vents open when its sitting in my driveway. I also cover the tires/wheels to protect the tires from UV.

We were in Phoenix a couple weeks ago when it was 115 in the afternoon. Our small 13.5 BTU roof top AC unit kept the inside of the Mirada at about 75 with no problems.

We live in Florida and keep it covered with a white tarp that is attached to poles. It keeps it shaded and pretty cool. We don't do anything else and have not had a problem related to storage for two summers now. Sun damage is worse than the heat, I believe.

I have MaxxAir vents and keep my roof vents open. I also keep a reflective sunscreen on the front (chassis) window. Open a window, or two for cross-flow ventilation, when it's not raining.

I worry more about UV than high temps. This is why I put UV protectant on exterior vinyl and rubber.

Build a climate controlled RV garage and your rig will look great for years to come. My 2008 Country Coach spent it's life in garages and looked new when I sold it last year. The people that bought it were in disbelief how nice it was.

When you live in AZ, as I do, the sun and heat are killers on paint, gel, stickers, tires, upholstery and so on. It's well worth paying for storage here if you don't have an RV garage. Most new houses where I'm at are built with RV garages for all of the toys.

I haven't done it yet, but I intend to put a solar fan in my vent, so there is always cool air flowing through the RV. Walmart sells vent covers that allow you to keep your vent open all the time. I'm going to go with the white tarp idea too.

Like waiter21 said,,, make window covers with cardboard & Reflextex for all windows!!
+ I painted our bath fan vent cover,,, and will soon be painting the skylight !!! I used about 3 coats of white ultra paint !!!
