Kitchen fan newbie question - 2016 30 DS
Ok - disclaimer - this is the wife: We picked up our 2016 on 7/29. During the walk through it was discovered that the fan at the range does not work and needs a new motor. The light does work however. The estimated eta of part is at least another week. Of course the big "warning do not cook without fan" sign is staring me in the face. Do I dare use the oven? I cook with gas range at home and I only use the fan if I "overcook". Thank you in advance!

I do not cook inside rain or shine.
As for the oven, IF you use a fan of some type to vent the hot air out thru the vent it should be ok.

Clip it to the hood and aim at the vent.
Be extra sure to keep the cord away from any hot spots

Kitchen Fan
If the 2016 30DS is the same as the 2015 the range hood vent is the "recirculating" type and does not vent to the outside. The hood fan only circulates the air through a small charcoal filter and back out to some slits on the upper left side of the hood. When using the range/oven just make sure you have a window and or roof vent open. The orange flame may be due to "residuals" from the manufacturing process burning off and should clear up after a few minutes. If not you you can find out how good your dealer warranty service is.

Thank you both for responding! The outdoor kitchen looks great and makes sense. The recirculating fan - probably what it is. We are still waiting to hear from dealer with part - and then the time to replace ...... thinking maybe we will make a list and let them do it all at the same time - maybe winter ..... : )

We don't have the same trailer but even with the fan on sometimes the smoke detector (at the other end of the living room) goes off. So what we do is open the kitchen ceiling vent and put a portable fan facing the stove. No more problems.
We have since installed a fantastic-fan in that ceiling vent.

Every time hubby cooks he forgets to turn fan on. We have to have the stove fan and the fantastic fan on or smoke alarm goes off. Our unit is pretty small, 23'. We always carry outside cooking gear with us just in case.

Yes our trailer is also a 23'. You need to take circulation away from the stove. If you have a switch reverse the fantastic fan to draw air out of the kitchen. Also opening a window or door on the opposite side helps a lot.

Yes that outside fan door is easy to forget. Both to open & to close before travelling.

The range fans are pathetic. Hold your hand under your fan. Is the air going towards or away from the fan? If it's going away, the fan motor is wired backwards. Take the metal cover off where the wires go in & reverse the two wires supplying power. You may need 2 marettes. The wires are usually black & white. Mine was reversed. Believe me you'll be an expert on trailers in no time.

You can also hold something under the hood that produces a little smoke,,, to see how well it fan works,,, just be prepared for the smoke detector to go off !!!
