Leak Issues
I've taken my brand new 2016 30DS to two different dealers for repair of my leaky windshield and leaky AC. 3 times in the shop and both still leak!
Has anyone had this many issues with the AC leaking? I've seen a lot of posts about the windshield, it's time for the windshield to be pulled off and reset and sealed. I'm at my wits end, any advice is greatly appreciated.

do you have the new AC unit with the heat pump? We're looking at that same model right now and don't need any surprises!

Yep, New Atwood Air command. It's a great AC except for this leak! It's coming from the corners where it's bolted to the roof. I've tried tightening them but it doesn't help

sounds like an issue with the seal from unit to roof or from the collar insid to roof....a good inspection of the roof bracing would br wise when it is pulled off....if they didnt pull the ac unit then they wre just trying to patch.

Our front window had water running on the inside, husband caulked all around outside. This FR3 is not worth a dime.

I contacted Kevin Stratton, he's the Service Manager for Forest River - FR3 and Georgetown models. He didn't respond to my first voice mail and email, so after a week I called and left more messages. He eventually called me back and he was not empathetic at all, basically sounded like a jaded service manager that tolerates customers. He told me that I could take it to a glass repair company to pull the windshield off but I'd have to pay and get reimbursed after he approved the estimate. As for the AC, I had to drive it 2 hours to the next closest FR3 dealer because the dealer in Austin (Camper Clinic 2) let my coach sit at their shop for 9 days without doing anything to the windshield or AC. They gave it back to me in worse condition, the leaks were worse!
After driving north of San Antonio to get both leaks fixed, I came back with an even worse leak in the AC! I've had a enough. I'm driving 2.5 hrs to the dealer I bought from (Motor Home Specialists) to get this resolved once and for all.
My biggest complaint is the Forest River dealers. If it would have been fixed right the first time I would be happy as a clam. My poor experience with Forest River Service Manager Kevin Stratton did not help.

Have said this many times as I keep seeing the leaky windshield issue.....have an Auto glass repair company fix. A well known company are equipped and trained on this fake glass. Dealerships are not. Mine fixed in mins and FR paid the bill. That was over a year ago.....

Travis Bird should be able to help. He had helped us with problems we first had with the FR3. What my husband did helped with the leak. And as far as dealers go, there motto is....you bought it, now it's your problem....LoL, but really not funny

I too took mine in to Camper Clinic 2 just south of Austin for a windshield leak. I have a 2015 FR3 30DS. While there I noticed a second FR3 in for the same fix. Tammy had a glass repair guy out to fix both of ours. Picked mine up a couple of days later. Crossing my fingers it is fixed right.
Still waiting on the 32" TV replacement though. Video went out after only 7 months.

Have you resolved the a/c leak? Ours is leaking too! It's horrible. Just suddenly pours out, then a steady drip.

I was the other FR3! I remember them telling me about another FR3 there for a windshield leak. Boy, I hope your experience wasn't as bad as mine. Camper Clinic did a terrible job, both times I brought it in for leak issues on the AC and windshield. They never got a glass company out there, they lied to me on the phone about it. When I got there I asked for them to show me what the glass company did, so they grabbed a tech and he said they (camper clinic) put silicon around it, no glass company came out. It sat at their shop for 9 days and they put silicon on it to get it out of the shop bc I kept calling asking for updates.
I ended up taking it back to Motor Home Specialists where I bought it and they took care of it. But that's a whole other story.

Well, after taking our 2016 FR3 30DS into the shop 6 times at 3 different shops for a leaky AC and windshield Forest River finally replaced the AC with another Atwood Air Command. Forest River concluded that the drip pan or something had a crack in it, but it only leaked when it rained. It hasn't rained much since we got it back on June 5th but it did hold up during a few rainy days, with the exception of one big rain in late June that brought a little water through the AC. The windshield will have an occasional bead of water streaming down the inside of the windshield but it is 98% better.
I hope you get it to a reliable shop to get it done right. My experience was so bad because the first two shops were dishonest and absolutely despicable. Taking it 2.5 hours back to Motor Home Specialists where I bought it from is what I will do if anything else needs repair.

No windshield or A/C leak, but I do have an entry door window leak. The seal is protruding out in the bottom right corner inside and outside. Funny though because the leak is at the top. Going into shop Tuesday for that, two LED lamp replacements and to have the cables adjusted on my bedroom slide.

Mark, Camper Clinic told me that a glass company would come out to fix the leak, but after I finally got it home, I noticed that all that was done was more silicone applied around the top. And they made a mess of the windshield doing it. I'm now sure they lied to me as well, and that their tech did the work, and not a glass repair company. After cleaning the windshield myself, we left again for another trip. Luckily, knock on wood, our leak was fixed. It poured on us recently, and we have found no further leaks with the windshield.
It took them three weeks to get another TV in, so when it did arrive, I removed the old one myself and just traded with the new one at the shop. There was no way I was going to let them do the replacement.
BTW - we also bought ours from Motor Home Specialists back in August.

Motor home specialist.. Are they that big out fit in Texas?
Man.. With all the issues not only with these new RV's and deceptions from manufacturers and dealers, we RV owners should unite and file a class action on the industry.

We had been having the ac leak. Just got back from a week long trip and I just left the ac on high, rather than auto. Not one time did it leak. Go figure.

Harley, glad to hear yours is "fixed" for the time being. Best of luck on the road.
We're in DC and getting ready to make a move for Michigan. No AC leaks, thank God!
