Looking at Class A - Gas

The wife and I have a Cedar Creek 5th wheel and are considering a Class A gasoline model. We are very familiar with 5th wheels, but would like to know what amenities current/past owners would be looking for if they were looking for a coach today. What gas mileage is an average for a gas coach? What is the difference in the various models for Forest River coaches? Thanks in advance for your comments.

My current fuel stats: We have a mix of weights too, some of that has been without a toad and some with, or some with a load of water and some without. But we did a full tank trip from Rochester NY to Lake George NY last week and avg 7.1 flat towing our Jeep Wrangler 2DR.

We love our 2016 FR3 30DS but warranty work has been a pain in the rear end!

The only thing we really wish the RV had was an inverter. While shopping we figured we wouldn't miss it that much while boon-docking as we don't spend a lot of time in the camper in those situations and are able to plug in at other locations or Run the genny. BUT, we have found that using the 12v outlets to charge everything and not being able to throw the TV on before bed while boondocking has quickly grown old. A inverter will definitely be our next big purchase for it.

Class A

We enjoy our 2017 FR3 30DS and are currently heading cross-country to Alaska. We have had a pop-up, Class C, 5th wheel, and two truck campers before our current motorhome. The floor plan was important to us. The king bed, fold out sofa, space in the bathroom to actually sit or shower, compartment space and flat floor was the selling features we looked for. Our mileage averages around 7 MPG towing a GMC Canyon, but it tows very well. Personal preferences carries the most weight and what makes you happy. Good luck.
