Looking for Ford Dealer to service F-53 Chassis

I am trying to locate a Ford Dealer in the Detroit area to provide service on our 2016 FR3 30DS motorhome. I currently have the motorhome at a small local repair shop doing routine maintenance (oil change, etc). They found the driveline parking brake leaking oil and transmission fluid coming out of the vent tube which should be covered by warranty. I can't find any Ford Dealer in the local area that will handle this size vehicle. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. Jim

Bill Brown Ford. I took my 2016 FR3 30DS there, did a good job on a wheel alignment. Forest River picked-up the tab.

If the place shown are to far away from where you live, the best thing to do is a Google search for HD truck repair shops. There are also some Ford dealerships that sell/service HD trucks.

There's a toll free number in the Ford owner's manual specifically for "Motorhome Assistance". They can give you a list of Ford dealers that will work on your coach. Here's what's in my 2010 E450 manual. I assume it's the same for F53 chassis.
---------

Away from home–motorhome service

If you own a motorhome built on a Ford Chassis and are away from

home when your vehicle needs service, or if you need more help than

the authorized dealer could provide, after following the steps above,

contact the Ford Motorhome Customer Assistance Center to find an

authorized dealer or service location to help you. In the United States

and Canada:

Ford Motorhome Customer Assistance Center

900 N. Lake Havasu Avenue

Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403

1-800-444-3311

Open 365/24/7

In order to help service your motorhome vehicle, please have the

following information available when contacting the Motorhome

Customer Assistance Center:

telephone number where you can be reached

vehicle location (city and state)

year and make of your vehicle

current odometer reading

vehicle identification number (VIN)

Where are you in the Detroit area? North, East, West, South? that way people can help you with a dealer and directions. LaFantaine also opened up a Ford dealership in Detroit area and they are also a good dealer (services our GMC from their Chevrolet dealership) with a lot of different dealerships for different makes.

Yep. There is almost 100 miles between one side and the other of the Detroit metro area. Having worked for a major network TV station, it is interesting how people outside of our area think of Detroit as a small area, but, it, physically, encompasses about 4 million people from Port Huron to Monroe, to Ann Arbor, to Brighton and Howell. Lots of area to drag a motor home or travel trailer in search of the right dealership.

I also use the Ford customer service number to locate a nearby dealer for service. My RV dealer closed their customer storage facility this year which forced me to find a new storage location. When I called Ford, they gave me the names of two dealers that claim to be able to service the 33' Georgetown. The first I called is 8 miles from the storage facility and has two bays large enough to service the rv. That dealer currently has my rig and is waiting for the breakdown insurance inspector to arrive and verify over $3k worth of repairs to the engine and alternator.

When I was in CA two years ago and had a dreaded "check engine" problem, Ford again came through with a couple of local dealers. Unfortunately, the closest one couldn't get me in for two weeks so I had to use the one that was around 25 miles away who was able to do the repair while I waited.

Thank you for all the good input and recommendations. This morning I made calls to many of the Detroit area Ford dealers and located one about 35 miles from our home that would offer more than an oil change on a Super Duty F-53 chassis Class A Motor. Bill Brown Ford (32333 Capital Street, Livonia, MI 48150) has a heavy duty truck fleet service center that does work on Class A Ford chassis motorhome. They are currently scheduled about 2 weeks out on motorhomes but it sounds very encouraging.

ford chasis service

When i needed my AC worked on I call local shops,I was told that they could not do it. I had coachnet looking into it, they found a shop 70 miles away.

i called the ford line(should have done it in the first place) they found me a dealer close by. Strange thing, when i called the dealer the first time they said they do not service big trucks.

Call Ford, they know who is where.

Yes Jim Wiemels, that's the dealership. My experience with their fleet service location was good, would return again.
