Lukewarm Water

2016 FR3 30DS

I'm having the problem where my hot water isn't so hot, I would call it a hair above lukewarm.

In my searches I've found where its said the problem is with the hot water heater bypass valve. I believe mine is in the correct position, but a little confirmation from the group would be good.

The white valve can be in one of 3 positions, 9, 12 or 3 o'clock. Mine is at 12 o'clock and to me, that should be 'open'.

Anyone disagree?

Watch this first and try before you tackle a serious expense at a dealer.

Good luck

That's kind of a vague description without a pic. See if this thread (and it's 3 posts) can help you determine the correct positions

One way to see if the water is hot in the water heater, but is possibly mixing with cold water via the crossover valve....is to go outside and briefly flip up the lever on the pressure/temp relief valve located on the face of the water heater. Make sure you are not standing where you can get splashed with hot water.

It the water is real hot here, then you know the problem is not at the heater, but by the time it gets to the fixture (a crossover valve being open (when it should be closed) letting cold water into the hot water line

make sure your outside shower is turned off at the two handles and NOT off via the switch on the shower wand. That has caused many headaches for others.

Valves

With your 30DS de-winterized, 2 valve handles should be in line with the hot and cold water line and the bypass valve should be at 3&9. This will allow hot water to the system and not bypass.

I bought a '16 30DS and had the same issue.

There is a on/off valve that is in line coming off the hot water tank (visible through the round inspection panel on the right side of your coach). Use that valve to regulate the water temp.

Easy!!
